ضاقَ النطاقُ وضاقَ الشِّبرُ والباعُ

ضاقَ النطاقُ وضاقَ الشِّبرُ والباعُ

عن التجلِّي وأبصارٌ وأسماع

عن التجلِّي وأبصارٌ وأسماع

The scope is too narrow, as are the handspan and armspan,

The space narrowed, the land tract shrank, the horizons closed in,

for self-disclosure, as are eyes and ears.

No more manifestations, sights or sounds,

فما يرى نفسَه إلا به فَلَهُ

فما يرى نفسَه إلا به فَلَهُ

في كلِّ ذاتِ تراكيبٍ وأطباع

في كلِّ ذاتِ تراكيبٍ وأطباع

So he sees himself only through him; thus he has

So nothing perceived itself but through Him - Glory to Him!

in every essence, compositions and natures.

In every essence, temperament and trace.
