تاه الفؤادُ بذكر الله وابتهجا

تاه الفؤادُ بذكر الله وابتهجا

ولاحَ صبحُ الهدَى للعبد وابتلجا

ولاحَ صبحُ الهدَى للعبد وابتلجا

The heart was lost in remembrance of God and rejoiced.

The heart wandered in remembrance of God and rejoiced,

And the dawn of guidance appeared to the servant and shone brightly.

And the dawn of guidance shone for the servant and sparkled.

وأسرجَ الله من أنوار حكمتِه

وأسرجَ الله من أنوار حكمتِه

ومن معارفِه في قلبه سُرُجا

ومن معارفِه في قلبه سُرُجا

And God lit, from the lights of His wisdom

And God saddled from the lights of His wisdom,

And from His knowledge, lamps within his heart.

And from His knowledge in his heart lanterns.

فظلَّ يفتحُ من أبوابِ رحمته

فظلَّ يفتحُ من أبوابِ رحمته

على خليقتِه ما كان قد رتجا

على خليقتِه ما كان قد رتجا

So He kept opening the gates of His mercy

So he continued opening from the gates of His mercy,

To His creation—those He had once shut.

Upon His creation whatever had been sealed.
