The door of knowledge is open to whoever knocks at it.

And how can a door be knocked upon when it is open?

That is only because of the inviolable occupants within the house.

And the person has sight, and the breast is opened wide.

And the master of the house is jealous and full of affection

for his household; passion is a symbol and an elucidation.

And none knocks upon this door but a young man

who has a little heart filled with longing and torment.

He has a little heart that, among the people of the house, is bewildered

by a passion in which he finds short measure and greater weight.

Love is only for the people of the house, not for the house itself.

Yet it may be for the house, and therein lies an allusion,

because they are its very essence, if you have insight.

And do not say, 'It is a house'; it is wind.
