Praise to the First and the Last,

Praise be to the First and the Last

The One, the Hidden and the Manifest.

The One, the Hidden and the Manifest

بوحدةِ الكبر عرفت الذي

بوحدةِ الكبر عرفت الذي

قرَّره الرحمن في خاطري

قرَّره الرحمن في خاطري

Through the oneness of grandeur, I knew what

Through His Oneness of Greatness I knew Him

The All-Merciful established in my mind.

Whom the Merciful established in my heart

إنَّ الغنى وصفٌ له ثابتٌ

إنَّ الغنى وصفٌ له ثابتٌ

عند اللبيب العاقلِ الناظر

عند اللبيب العاقلِ الناظر

Indeed, self-sufficiency is His firmly established attribute,

Indeed, Richness is an attribute fixed for Him

In the eyes of the discerning, rational observer.

In the mind of the wise and thoughtful observer

والنقلُ قد أثبت أسماءَه

والنقلُ قد أثبت أسماءَه

لحكمتهِ الخابرِ والحائر

لحكمتهِ الخابرِ والحائر

And transmitted tradition has affirmed His names,

Transmission has proven His names

For His wisdom—the knowledgeable and the bewildered.

For His penetrating and confounding wisdom

والكشفُ قد قال بهذا وذا

والكشفُ قد قال بهذا وذا

لأنه في الموقفِ الباهر

لأنه في الموقفِ الباهر

And unveiling has affirmed this and that,

Unveiling has spoken of this and that

For it is in the dazzling station.

For He is overwhelming in the splendid scene

يبهر أربابَ الحجى بالغنى

يبهر أربابَ الحجى بالغنى

ويبهر الناقلُ بالحابر

ويبهر الناقلُ بالحابر

It dazzles the masters of reason with self-sufficiency,

He overwhelms the learned with Richness

And the transmitter is dazzled by the scholar.

And overwhelms the transmitter with the Overwhelmer

وهو على ما هو في نفسه

وهو على ما هو في نفسه

يحكم للأوَّل والآخر

يحكم للأوَّل والآخر

And He, as He is in Himself,

And He judges, as He is within Himself

Judges for the First and the Last.

For the First and the Last
