O meadow of the valley, answer the lady of the sanctuary,

And her with gleaming teeth, O meadow of the valley.

And spread some of your shade over her for a while,

A little while, until the company settles there,

And her tents are pitched in your midst.

Then all the fine rain you wish, nourishment for bending boughs,

And all the heavy rain you wish, and all the dew you wish:

Clouds over her bān trees, passing evening and morning.

And all the deep shade you wish, and ripe fruit,

Delicious to the gatherer, swaying on a swaying bough.

And many a seeker there for Zarūd and its sands,

And a singer urging camels onward, and a singer guiding the way.
