ما قدرَ اللهَ حقَّ قدره

ما قدرَ اللهَ حقَّ قدره

إلا الذي كان عين أمره

إلا الذي كان عين أمره

None has esteemed God as He truly deserves,

None truly valued Allah as He merits

except the one who was the very essence of His command,

Save he whose eye ne'er ceased to behold Him.

وكان حقاً بلا خلافٍ

وكان حقاً بلا خلافٍ

في بطنه دائماً وظهره

في بطنه دائماً وظهره

and was the Real, beyond dispute,

In him the truth shone clear, beyond dispute,

always in his belly and his back,

Within his heart and openly proclaimed.

وكان عين الكلام منه

وكان عين الكلام منه

بسرِّه كان أو بجهره

بسرِّه كان أو بجهره

and was the very speech issuing from him,

His every word and deed bore that same mark

whether uttered in secret or aloud.

In public or seclusion, loud or soft.

فهو الإمام الذي يرجى

فهو الإمام الذي يرجى

وما يرجيه عين ستره

وما يرجيه عين ستره

So he is the Imam who is awaited,

He is the guide we put our faith in, he

and what delays him is his concealment itself.

Whose secret aims hope's very eye can see.

أخره حكمةً وعلماً

أخره حكمةً وعلماً

بأنه عارفٌ بقدره

بأنه عارفٌ بقدره

He delayed him out of wisdom, knowing

Wisdom and knowledge stayed his hand until

that he knows his worth.

The destined hour of his authority.
