خليليَّ إني للشريعةِ حافظٌ

خليليَّ إني للشريعةِ حافظٌ

ولكنْ لها سرٌّ على عينه غطا

My two friends, I am a guardian of the sacred Law.

My friend, I abide by the sacred law

Yet it has a secret over whose eye lies a veil.

Yet it has a secret beyond its literal sense

فَمَنْ لزم الأوراد واستعمل الذي

فَمَنْ لزم الأوراد واستعمل الذي

قد ألزمه الرحمن لم يمشِ في عمى

قد ألزمه الرحمن لم يمشِ في عمى

So whoever kept to the devotional litanies and practiced what

So one who keeps to litanies and employs what

the All-Merciful had enjoined upon him did not walk in blindness.

The Merciful enjoined will not walk blind

وصح له سرُّ الموجودِ خلافة

وصح له سرُّ الموجودِ خلافة

وكان ولا أين وكان ولا متى

وكان ولا أين وكان ولا متى

And the secret of the Existent was realized for him in vicegerency;

The mystery of existence is made clear to him

And he was without a 'where,' and he was without a 'when.'

Without a where or when or how
