Sol 6.1

  1. مرادي مرادُ الطالبين أولي النهى

    وحالهمُ حالي وعلمهمُ علمي

    My desire is the desire of the seekers endowed with understanding;

    and their state is my state, and their knowledge my knowledge.

  2. مكانتهم مني مكانة باطني

    من الجسد المشهود في عالم الرسمِ

    Their standing in relation to me is that of my inward self

    in relation to the body beheld in the world of outward form.

  3. مكانٌ وإمكانٌ وإخوانُ راحةٍ

    هو الغرضُ المطلوبُ عند ذوي الفهمِ

    A place, possibility, and brethren of repose—

    this is the goal sought by those of understanding.

  4. مراتبهم عُلوية يشهدونها

    فويقَ استواء الأمر في العدل والحكم

    Their stations are lofty; they behold them

    just above the equilibrium of the command in justice and judgment.

  5. مناط الثريا كان ايمنهم بنا

    وأيسرهم إكليلها وهو من كمي

    The Pleiades' hanging-place was their rightmost point beside us,

    and their leftmost was its crown, which is from my sleeve.

  6. مشيتُ على مثليّ بيضا نقية

    بقومي فلم أجهل وما جرت في زعمي

    I walked upon my two likenesses, white and pure,

    with my people; I was not ignorant, nor unjust, in my reckoning.

  7. مقامي مقامي حيث لا أين وانتهت

    مقالتهم فينا وجرّدت عن جسمي

    My station is my station, where there is no 'where'; and there ended

    their discourse about us, and I was stripped of my body.

  8. مضى زمن كان التأسي برأسهم

    لأن شهودَ العينِ حيرهم في اسمي

    Gone is a time when their chief was the model to follow,

    for the eye's witnessing bewildered them concerning my name.

  9. مقابل من تعنو له أوجه العلى

    أنا ولهذا لم أزل ناقص القسم

    Facing Him before whom the faces of the heights bow

    am I; and thus my portion has always been deficient.

  10. مرامهمُ كوني ومرماه غائبٌ

    عن الفكر والتحديد بالعقلِ والوهم

    Their aim is my being, and its goal is hidden

    from thought and delimitation by reason and imagination.
