Sol 6.1

  1. إني أرى إبلا يقتادها رجلٌ

    من أمر خالقه يعتاده ذاتي

    Indeed, I see camels led by a man,

    By his Creator's command; my essence visits him.

  2. أسماؤه ظهرتْ من سيد عُصمت

    أقواله قد أتت نحوي بإثبات

    His names appeared through a master; safeguarded

    were his words, which have come to me with confirmation.

  3. لقد رآني وجودُ الحقِّ من قبلي

    وقال لي إن ذا من الكرامات

    Indeed, the Being of the Real saw me before I was,

    And said to me, "This is indeed among the miraculous gifts."

  4. كأنه هو في المعنى وصورته

    ولم أجد فارقاً بين العلامات

    As though he were He, in meaning and in his form,

    And I found no distinction between the signs.

  5. فعينَ الله لي من جودِه كرما

    روحاً تنزَّه عن علمِ الإشارات

    So God, out of His bounty, graciously appointed for me

    A spirit exalted beyond the knowledge of allusions.

  6. أفادني منه أسراراً مخبأة

    معصومة الحال من علم الخفيات

    He imparted to me hidden secrets from it,

    Safeguarded in their state from the knowledge of hidden things.

  7. فعندما حصلت في القلب عشت بها

    وصرت حياً ولكن بين أموات

    So when they settled in the heart, I lived through them,

    And became alive, yet among the dead.

  8. فلم أجد كرسولِ الله من بشر

    أو وارثيه وهم أهل الحميات

    So I found no human like the Messenger of God,

    Or his heirs, who are people of protective zeal.

  9. لهم حبالاتُ صيد من ذواتهمُ

    وهم ظهور فمن أهلِ الخيالات

    They have hunting snares made from their own selves,

    And they are manifestations, hence among the people of imagination.

  10. والطيرُ صيدٌ ولكن أين قانصه

    صيد يصيد قويُّ في الدلالات

    And the birds are prey—but where is their hunter?

    Prey that hunts, powerful in its indications.

  11. من فاز بالنظر العلويّ فاز بما

    في الغيب من فرحٍ فيه ولذات

    Whoever wins through the higher vision wins what

    lies in the unseen—joy within it, and delights.
