Indeed, I have been tried by a matter I do not know.

And I do not deny it; judgment belongs to God.

My ignorance of it is my very knowledge, and bliss through it

is like torment through it—as with wealth and rank.

If I say 'He,' unveiling itself says, 'It is not He.'

Or if I say 'this,' none agrees with me but God.

    So these are wisdoms that a judge knows;

whoever neglects them is like the people of sacred law regarding intercourse.

Whoever agrees with me about them, I agree with him.

And whoever challenges—say, 'My master, what are they?'

Then speechlessness seizes him whenever I say 'this.'

And this is proof against him that he is heedless.

For everyone in the Real's existence knows it,

except the one heedless of our intent (reading the split final word as 'heedless').
