If my sword grows blunt, my resolves are not blunted.

For I have resolves that sharpen my blades.

And if not, ask the spears about us: have they measured up for us—

And our swords too—ever to the measure of my resolves?

Ours is generosity, for we are Hatim's descendants.

And it has remained among my amulets since I hung it about my neck.
