Sol 6.1

  1. أنا العقابُ لي المقامُ الأرفعُ

    والحسنُ والنورُ البهيُّ الأسطعُ

    I am the eagle; mine is the loftiest station,

    And beauty, and the splendid, most radiant light.

  2. أمضي الأمورَ مراتِب حكمِها

    في العَدوة الدنيا وعزي أمنع

    I carry affairs through the ranks of their governance

    On the nearer bank; my might is most impregnable.

  3. أنا فيضة السامي ونورُ وجودِه

    وأنا الذي أدعوا الوجودَ فيخضعُ

    I am the Exalted One's outpouring and the light of His being.

    And I am the one who summons existence, so it submits.

  4. وأنا الذي ما زلت قبضة موجودي

    فالجود جودي والخلائق توضعُ

    And I am the one ever held in my Existent One's grasp.

    For bounty is my bounty, and the creatures hasten

  5. نحوي لتطلبَ ما لها من شُربها

    منا فأعطي من أشاءُ وأمنع

    Toward me, to seek their allotted draught

    From us; I give to whomever I will, and I withhold.

  6. أدنو فيبهرني جمالُ وجودِه

    أنأى فيدعوني البهاءُ الأروعُ

    I draw near, and the beauty of His being dazzles me.

    I draw away, and the most wondrous splendor calls me.

  7. فإذا دنوتُ فحكمه مقبوله

    لكن لها قلب العلي يتصدع

    Then, when I draw near, His judgment is what He accepts.

    Yet for its sake the heart of the Most High is rent.

  8. وإذا بعت فإمرة مقومة

    والنورُ من أرجائِها يتشعشعُ

    And when I sell, there is a rule set aright,

    And light radiates from its quarters.

  9. فأنا الأمير إذا بعدت فشقوتي

    في إمرتي وسعادتي إذ أنزعُ

    So I am the ruler when I draw away; my misery

    Lies in my rule, and my happiness comes when I am removed.

  10. فأمرّ أوقاتي وأسعدها إذا

    عاينتُ أعيان الأهلَّةِ تطلع

    So my bitterest and happiest moments are when

    I behold the essences of the crescent moons rising.
