فهو القوي إذا قضى

For He is the Mighty when He decrees,

He is the Powerful when He ordains

And He is the Mighty when He bestows.

And He is the Powerful when He bestows

فالحمدُ لله الذي

فالحمدُ لله الذي

بهما على قلبي فتح

بهما على قلبي فتح

So praise be to God, who

So praise be to Allah who

Through both granted an opening to my heart.

With both has unlocked my heart

إني رأيتُ الحقَّ وال

إني رأيتُ الحقَّ وال

ميزان في يده رجح

ميزان في يده رجح

Indeed, I saw the Real, and the

Indeed I saw the Truth and the

Balance in His hand tipped.

Scale in His hand tipping

فسألته ما يبتغي

فسألته ما يبتغي

فأجاب ما يدري فصح

فأجاب ما يدري فصح

So I asked Him what He sought;

So I asked what He seeks

He answered with what He knew; thus was confirmed

And He answered clearly expressing

قولُ الخلائق كلهم

قولُ الخلائق كلهم

إن الكريم له المنح

إن الكريم له المنح

The saying of all creatures:

The words of all creatures

Indeed, bestowal belongs to the Generous One.

That the Bountiful has the bestowal

ما زلت أعبده له

ما زلت أعبده له

والمؤمنين ومن صلح

والمؤمنين ومن صلح

I have never ceased worshipping Him for His sake,

I still worship Him for His sake

And for the believers and whoever is righteous.

And the believers and the righteous

من ليس يعبده كذا

من ليس يعبده كذا

بين الخلائق يفتضح

بين الخلائق يفتضح

Whoever does not worship Him thus

Whoever does not worship Him so

Is disgraced among creatures.

Among the creatures stands disgraced

وإذا فهمت مقالتي

وإذا فهمت مقالتي

زند المشاهد ينقدح

زند المشاهد ينقدح

And when you understand my words,

And when you understand my words

The beholder’s fire-stick sparks.

The witness's spark is lit

فترى الذي قد قلته

فترى الذي قد قلته

من نور زندك قد وضح

من نور زندك قد وضح

Then you will see that what I have said

So you see what I have said

Has become clear by your fire-stick’s light.

From the light of your spark made clear

فاقدح زنادَ وجوده

فاقدح زنادَ وجوده

فالكشف فيه لمن قدح

فالكشف فيه لمن قدح

So strike the fire-sticks of His being;

So light the spark of His existence

For in it is unveiling for whoever strikes a spark.

For in it lies the unveiling for the lit

إني نصحتكم وقد

إني نصحتكم وقد

أدَّى الأمانة من نصح

أدَّى الأمانة من نصح

Indeed, I have counseled you sincerely; and surely

I have advised you and

Whoever counsels sincerely has fulfilled the trust.

The trusted one has fulfilled the advice
