لله دَرُّ رجالٍ ما لهم دولٌ

لله دَرُّ رجالٍ ما لهم دولٌ

وهم يقيمون ما في الدهر من دول

وهم يقيمون ما في الدهر من دول

God bless the men who have no dominions,

God bless the men who have no worries,

Yet they sustain all the dominions in Time.

And who make impermanent things pass in this life.

لهم عنت أوجه الأملاك ساجدة

لهم عنت أوجه الأملاك ساجدة

وما لهم أربٌ في علةِ العلل

وما لهم أربٌ في علةِ العلل

The faces of the angels bowed to them in prostration,

The faces of angels bow down before them,

Yet they have no desire for the Cause of causes.

And they have no concerns about the causes of afflictions.

لأنهم عينه ومن يكون على

لأنهم عينه ومن يكون على

ما قلته فله التصريفُ في الملل

ما قلته فله التصريفُ في الملل

For they are His very self; and whoever is as

Because they are His essence, and whoever is as I described,

I have said has sway over the creeds.

To him belongs the power to turn the course of fates.

لما تفكرت فيما اختص بي وبهم

لما تفكرت فيما اختص بي وبهم

رأيتهم عينَ نفسِ الحقِّ في الأزل

رأيتهم عينَ نفسِ الحقِّ في الأزل

When I reflected on what belonged uniquely to me and to them,

When I pondered what was divinely ordained for me and them,

I saw them as the very self of the Real in beginningless eternity.

I saw they were the essence of the True Reality since the beginning.

لقد رأيتهمُ والعين تصحبهم

لقد رأيتهمُ والعين تصحبهم

على محجتهم في أقوم السُّبّل

على محجتهم في أقوم السُّبّل

Indeed I saw them, with the Eye accompanying them,

I saw them, and the spiritual eye accompanied them,

On their clear path, along the straightest of ways.

On their straight spiritual path.

لبيتهم حين نادوني على كَثَب

لبيتهم حين نادوني على كَثَب

أنا المشرع ما في الكون من نحل

أنا المشرع ما في الكون من نحل

I answered their call when they called me from close at hand.

When they called me from a hill,

I am the lawgiver for all the creeds in the cosmos.

I am the Lawgiver, none in existence has my ability,

لو كان لي غرضٌ في نسخ ما شرعوا

لو كان لي غرضٌ في نسخ ما شرعوا

للما عجزتُ ولكن حكم ذلك لي

للما عجزتُ ولكن حكم ذلك لي

Had I any purpose in abrogating what they ordained,

If I wanted to copy what they legislated,

I would not lack the power; yet the decision on that is mine.

I would not have been able, but the judgment of that is not up to me.

لي كل ما شئتُ أخفيه وأظهرُه

لي كل ما شئتُ أخفيه وأظهرُه

من العماءِ إلى الأركان في السفل

من العماءِ إلى الأركان في السفل

All that I have willed is mine; I conceal it and reveal it,

I have all I wish to show and hide

From the Cloud to the elements in the lower realm.

From deep darkness to the corners below.

لدورتي أوجد الأدوار في أُكر

لدورتي أوجد الأدوار في أُكر

من الهلالِ إلى البيضا إلى زُحَل

من الهلالِ إلى البيضا إلى زُحَل

For my revolution, I bring the cycles into being within spheres,

My cycles originated cycles

From the crescent to the White One, to Saturn.

From the crescent moon to Saturn to Jupiter.

لعبت بالدهرِ دهري في تصرُّفه

لعبت بالدهرِ دهري في تصرُّفه

ولو تصرَّفَ غيري كان ذا ملل

ولو تصرَّفَ غيري كان ذا ملل

I played with Time all my life as it changed,

I played with fate my whole fate in its events,

And had anyone else exercised power, he would have grown bored.

And if another took charge instead of me, it would have been tedious.
