1. كلُّ وقتٍ اراك ليلةَ قدري

    والتي للأنام في رمضانِ

    Every moment I see you is my Night of Destiny.

    And the one for humankind in Ramadan

  2. هي خيرٌ من ألفِ شهرٍ وإني

    أنا خيرٌ منها بغير زمان

    Is better than a thousand months; and indeed I—

    I am better than it, beyond time.

  3. فضلها راجعٌ إليَّ وفضلي

    راجعٌ للذي عليه براني

    Its merit derives from me, and my merit

    Derives from that according to which He fashioned me.

  4. فانظروا الخلقَ كلَّه تجدوه

    أرضَه وأسماؤه المَلوان

    So look at all creation; you will find it—

    Its earth, and its names—night and day—

  5. جسداً ميتاً يزول ويفنى

    يومَ أمشي عنه لدارِ الجنانِ

    A dead body that passes away and perishes

    The day I walk away from it to the abode of Paradise.

  6. فحياةُ الوجودِ حيثُ حللنا

    منه والموتُ عند من لا يراني

    For the life of existence is wherever we have dwelt

    Within it; and death is with whoever does not see me.

  7. كل فخر في كل شخص معار

    غير فخري بصورة الرحمن

    All pride in every person is borrowed,

    Except my pride in the image of the All-Merciful,

  8. وبأشياء جمعةٍ تتعالى

    كعلومِ دليلها في عيانِ

    And in gathered things that are exalted,

    Such as sciences whose proof lies in direct vision,

  9. وتخلى لله دنيا وأخرى

    في عياني وتارة في جناني

    And renunciation of this world and the next for God,

    In my direct vision, and at times in my heart.
