Blessed are You, God—exalted is His majesty.

And mighty is He: no knower's knowledge has attained Him.

He is exalted: His creatures' thoughts have not grasped Him.

And every judge was refuted by what He revealed.

Yet, alongside the refutation brought by

the texts of guidance, He bestowed the praise “most merciful of the merciful”

upon Himself through revelation, so that one foremost

and one of the middle course might thereby know a wrongdoer's wisdom.

So none foremost boasts, for his mention comes later,

since he is included there among the wrongdoers.

Thus He brought transcendence in Shūrā and elsewhere,

and He brought likeness on the tongue of interpretations.

Each has a sound aspect and a purpose,

so through what He revealed He encompassed all landmarks.

And He said: I am according to suppositions and their judgment.

And that is the very essence of knowing Me in the interpretations.

And in them you see the Resurrection, when

he draws him near after the denial that clings

to what they held concerning Us through their reason's proof,

though My beasts surpassed them in knowledge,

as came from Us in Our plain speech,

upon the tongues of the messengers, from every judge.
