ظِباءُ ذاتِ الأَجرَعِ
Between al-Naqa and La'la',
Among the meadows and grass tufts
Are the gazelles of Dhat al-Ajra'.

Drinking intoxicated wine
Among lush groves, and browse.

Whenever a new moon rose
On the horizon of that rising-place,
In the horizon of that place

For what ails us, had not shone.
When we were there, it didn't shine

Until the moment of parting came
You found no eye that wept.

The morning breeze didn't speak the truth
When it came with deceits.
