وأركانُها خمسٌ عتاقٌ نجائبُ

وأركانُها خمسٌ عتاقٌ نجائبُ

تسيرُ على حكمِ الحقيقةِ بالصّوى

تسيرُ على حكمِ الحقيقةِ بالصّوى

And its pillars are five purebred, noble mounts.

Its pillars are five noble ones, lofty mountains,

They travel by the waymarks, under the rule of reality.

Marching by the rule of truth in the valley.

فأولَّها الإيمان بالله بعدَه

فأولَّها الإيمان بالله بعدَه

رسولٌ عزيزٌ جاء بالصِّدقِ والهدى

رسولٌ عزيزٌ جاء بالصِّدقِ والهدى

So the first is faith in God; after Him,

First is belief in God, then after that

An honored messenger who came with truth and guidance.

A noble messenger who came with truth and guidance.

فيعرضُ للمحجوبِ شفعُ شهادةٍ

فيعرضُ للمحجوبِ شفعُ شهادةٍ

فأوترها الرحمنُ في سورة النِّسا

فأوترها الرحمنُ في سورة النِّسا

Thus a twofold testimony appears to the veiled one.

So he presents, for the veiled one, intercession of testimony,

So the All-Merciful made it single in Surah al-Nisa.

Then the All-Merciful supplemented it in Surat An-Nisa.

وعرّفه مقدارَ نفسٍ ضعيفةٍ

وعرّفه مقدارَ نفسٍ ضعيفةٍ

وأيَّده بالحالِ في سابقِ القضا

وأيَّده بالحالِ في سابقِ القضا

And He taught him the measure of a weak soul.

And He clarified the measure of a weak soul,

And He strengthened him through the state, in the decree of old.

And supported it by circumstance in the precedents of destiny.

وثم صلاةٌ والزكاةُ وصومُنا

وثم صلاةٌ والزكاةُ وصومُنا

وحجٌ وهذي خمسة ما بها خفا

وحجٌ وهذي خمسة ما بها خفا

And then come prayer, almsgiving, and our fasting,

Then prayer, and alms, and our fast,

And pilgrimage—these are five, with no obscurity about them.

And pilgrimage, these five have no concealment.
