دعabandon الظنَconjecture واعلمand know أنَّthat للظنfor conjecture آفةa bane
وقوفكyour stopping حيثwhere الظنُّconjecture والظنُّand conjecture متهمُsuspect
Abandon conjecture, and know that conjecture has a bane:
Dismiss conjecture, and know that conjecture harbors malice,
Your stopping at conjecture—and conjecture is suspect.
Your standing where conjecture stands, and it accuses,
فشرِّدso banish وساويسَwhisperings الظنونِconjectures بملحمةٍwith a fierce battle
منfrom الكوكبِthe star العلميّof knowledge إنif كنتَyou are تحترمrespected
So banish the whisperings of conjecture with an onslaught
So dispel the devils of conjecture with reason,
From the star of knowledge, if you would be respected.
From the star of knowledge, if you hold it in esteem,
فلاso no ظنّconjecture إلاexcept ماwhat يقالis said بقطعهwith certainty about it
وإلاand otherwise فنارٌthen a fire للجهالةof ignorance تضطرمblazes
So let there be no conjecture except what is declared certain;
No conjecture unless it be stated with certainty,
Otherwise, a fire of ignorance blazes.
Else it is a fire for ignorance set ablaze.
