تُحاجيني وَلَفظُكَ مِثلُ دُرّ

تُحاجيني وَلَفظُكَ مِثلُ دُرّ

لِهُ مِن فِكرِكَ الواري نِصاحُ

لِهُ مِن فِكرِكَ الواري نِصاحُ

You pose me a riddle, and your speech is like pearls,

You argue with me, your words like pearls

For which your glowing thought provides a thread.

With sincere advice flowing from your thoughts

وَقِدحُكَ في العُلومِ هُوَ المُعَلّى

وَقِدحُكَ في العُلومِ هُوَ المُعَلّى

غَداةَ تُجالُ في النادي القِداحُ

غَداةَ تُجالُ في النادي القِداحُ

And your lot-arrow in the sciences is the highest-valued,

And you excel in knowledge, the most eminent

On the morning the lot-arrows are cast in the assembly.

In the mornings when cups are passed around the club

بِبَعلٍ كُلُّهُ ذِكرٌ صَحيحٌ

بِبَعلٍ كُلُّهُ ذِكرٌ صَحيحٌ

وَأُنثى كُلُّها فَرجٌ مُباحُ

وَأُنثى كُلُّها فَرجٌ مُباحُ

About a husband who is wholly an intact male organ,

With a husband who is wholly masculine

And a female who is wholly a freely available vulva.

And a wife who is wholly licentious

وتُفضى هذِهِ وَيُجَبُّ هذا

وتُفضى هذِهِ وَيُجَبُّ هذا

وَلا تُؤذيهِما تِلكَ الجِراحُ

وَلا تُؤذيهِما تِلكَ الجِراحُ

And this female is torn open, and this male is emasculated,

One spreads her legs, the other gets an erection

Yet those wounds do not hurt either of them.
