ياO اِبنَson of العَساكِرِal-ʿAsākir (the armies) إِنif صَحَّis true اِنتِسابُكَyour lineage ذاthis
يا اِبنَ العَساكِرِ إِن صَحَّ اِنتِسابُكَ ذا
فَأَنتَthen you مِنfrom أُمَمٍpeoples صُوِّرتyou were fashioned مَسبوكاcast
فَأَنتَ مِن أُمَمٍ صُوِّرت مَسبوكا
O son of al-ʿAsākir, if this lineage of yours is true,
then you were fashioned, cast from many peoples.
ياO اِبنَson of الدَجاجَةِthe hen كُلُّall الناسِthe people كانَwas لَهاfor her
يا اِبنَ الدَجاجَةِ كُلُّ الناسِ كانَ لَها
ديكاًa rooster فَأَنتَso you اِبنُson of مَنwhom حَتّىso that أُناديكاI may address you
ديكاً فَأَنتَ اِبنُ مَن حَتّى أُناديكا
O son of the hen, everyone was her
rooster; so whose son are you, that I may address you?
