I saw a kohl-stick with al-Miṭwāʿ,
I saw by the fountain a bucket,
A handspan long and [an unclear measure] wide.
A cubit in length, a palm-span round,
فَقُلتُso I said هَذاthis لِأَيِّfor which عَينٍeye
فَقُلتُ هَذا لِأَيِّ عَينٍ
فَقالَso he said هَذاthis لِعَينِfor the eye of ظَهريmy back; here, my backside
فَقالَ هَذا لِعَينِ ظَهري
So I said, “For which eye is this?”
I said, 'For whom is this drinking cup?'
He replied, “This is for the eye of my backside.”
'It is for the eyes on my back,' he replied.
