وَلا تَقُل ساحِلُ الإِفرَنجِ أَملُكُهُ

وَلا تَقُل ساحِلُ الإِفرَنجِ أَملُكُهُ

فَما يُساوي إِذا قايَستَهُ عَدَنا

فَما يُساوي إِذا قايَستَهُ عَدَنا

And do not say, "I possess the coast of the Franks";

Do not say the Frankish coast I own it

For, when you compare it, it does not equal Aden.

For it is not worth comparing to our Aden

وَما تُريدُ بِجِسمٍ لا حَياةَ لَهُ

وَما تُريدُ بِجِسمٍ لا حَياةَ لَهُ

مِن خُلصِ الزبدَ ما أَبقى لَكَ اللَبَنا

مِن خُلصِ الزبدَ ما أَبقى لَكَ اللَبَنا

And what do you want with a body that has no life?

And why would you want a lifeless body

Whoever extracted the butter left you no milk.

Of milk, only whey is left for you

وَإِن أَرَدتَ جِهاداً رَوِّ سَيفَكَ مِن

وَإِن أَرَدتَ جِهاداً رَوِّ سَيفَكَ مِن

قَومٍ أَضاعوا فُروضَ اللَهِ وَالسُّنَنا

قَومٍ أَضاعوا فُروضَ اللَهِ وَالسُّنَنا

And if you seek jihad, quench your sword's thirst on

And if you want jihad, wet your sword with

A people who have neglected God's prescribed duties and traditions.

A people who lost Allah’s laws and traditions

طَهِّر بِسَيفِكَ بَيتَ اللَهِ مِن دَنَسٍ

طَهِّر بِسَيفِكَ بَيتَ اللَهِ مِن دَنَسٍ

وَما أَحاطَ بِهِ مِن خِسَّةٍ وَخَنا

وَما أَحاطَ بِهِ مِن خِسَّةٍ وَخَنا

With your sword, cleanse the House of God of defilement,

Purify Allah’s house with your sword from filth

And of the baseness and lewdness that surround it.

And the disgrace surrounding it

وَلا تَقُل إِنَّهُم مِن آلِ فاطِمَةٍ

وَلا تَقُل إِنَّهُم مِن آلِ فاطِمَةٍ

لَو أَدرَكوا آلَ حَربٍ قاتَلوا الحَسَنا

لَو أَدرَكوا آلَ حَربٍ قاتَلوا الحَسَنا

And do not say that they belong to Fatimah's family;

And do not say they are from Fatima’s progeny

Had they lived in the time of Harb's family, they would have fought al-Hasan.

If they met the Harb clan, they'd fight Al-Hasan
