ذَقنُ عَبدِ الرَحيمِ مَع شارِبَيهِ

وَعَذارَيهِ في اِستِ عَبدِ الرَحيمِ

وَعَذارَيهِ في اِستِ عَبدِ الرَحيمِ

ʿAbd al-Raḥīm’s chin, with both halves of his moustache,

The wine of Abdul Rahim I did enjoy

and his sideburns, is in ʿAbd al-Raḥīm’s arse.

With his boon companions in his abode

وَاِرمِ بِالسَبِّ نَجلَ شيثٍ وَلا تَخ

وَاِرمِ بِالسَبِّ نَجلَ شيثٍ وَلا تَخ

شَ تَجِدهُ تَيساً بِقَرنٍ عَظيمِ

شَ تَجِدهُ تَيساً بِقَرنٍ عَظيمِ

And hurl abuse at the son of Shīth, and do not

Curse not the wine, the son of Seth, and fear no shame

fear; you will find him a he-goat with a huge horn.

For you will find it a mighty goat with curved horn
