صَغيرُyoung هَواكَmy love for you عَذَّبَنيtormented me
فَكَيفَthen how بِهِwith it إِذاwhen اِحتَنَكاit comes of age

وَأَنتَand you جَمَعتَhave gathered مِنfrom قَلبيmy heart

وَقَتليand killing me لاnot يَحِلُّis lawful لَكاfor you
And withholding your favor kills me,
Yet your withholding satisfaction kills me
yet killing me is not lawful for you.
And my murder would not please you
أَماwill you not تَرثيfeel pity لِمُكتَئِبٍfor a despondent person
إِذاwhen ضَحِكَlaughs الحَزينُthe sorrowful person بَكىhe weeps
Will you not pity one so despondent,
Do you not have pity on one depressed
who weeps when even the sorrowful laugh?
When the sorrowful laugh, they weep
