God brought together for the caliph what He had

gathered for all the other caliphs.

So he is their Mansur when resolve is mentioned,

and their Mahdi for surpassing generosity,

    and al-Rashid, disguised until

God lifted every veil from him.

And his is his father's lofty eminence,

    above all eminence and glory,

and his rising to meet challenges, even if they were

mountains whose summits are in the sky.

And beyond that, his is what God specially granted him:

    awe-inspiring majesty and splendor.

I ask God to grant the caliph favor—

lasting and growing—and a long life.

He united affection and awe among the people

through his far reach and the nearness of meeting him.
