فَرَجٌFaraj (a name) قالواthey said اِسمُthe name of والِدِthe father of مَنone who
فَرَجٌ قالوا اِسمُ والِدِ مَن
يَتَعاطىengages in الفِقهَjurisprudence وَالحجَجاand arguments
يَتَعاطى الفِقهَ وَالحجَجا
Faraj, they said, is the name of the father of one
who engages in jurisprudence and argument.
إِنif يَكُنis هذاthis اِسمُthe name of ذيone possessing حَسَبِnoble lineage
إِن يَكُن هذا اِسمُ ذي حَسَبِ
فَمُنِعتُthen may I be denied الرّوحَcomfort وَالفَرَجاand relief
فَمُنِعتُ الرّوحَ وَالفَرَجا
If this is the name of a man of noble lineage,
then may I be denied comfort and relief.
