  1. أأُضِيعُ سحرَ جفونِهِ

    وأُهينُ مبسَمَهُ وخمرَهْ

    Would I squander the magic of his eyelids

    and slight his smiling mouth and his wine,

  2. منْ شعرتين بخدِّهِ

    كلاَّ ولا ألفينِ شعرَهْ

    because of two hairs on his cheek?

    Never—not even for two thousand hairs!
