مَنْ قالَ بالمردِ فإني امرؤٌ

مَنْ قالَ بالمردِ فإني امرؤٌ

ما لي إلى المِردانِ مِنْ شَوْفِ

ما لي إلى المِردانِ مِنْ شَوْفِ

Whoever favors beardless youths—as for me, I am a man

Whoever accuses me of effeminacy, I am a man

with no longing for beardless youths.

I have no desire for the effeminate

مَنْ كانَ فيهمْ بالخنا ناظراً

مَنْ كانَ فيهمْ بالخنا ناظراً

أو عاملاً فالمرءُ مُسْتَوْفِ

أو عاملاً فالمرءُ مُسْتَوْفِ

Whoever looks upon them with lewd intent,

Whoever among them looks with desire

or acts so, that man receives his full due.

Or acts upon it, he is the one fulfilled
