الواعظُ الأمردُ هذا الذي

الواعظُ الأمردُ هذا الذي

قَدْ نزَّهَ الأسماعَ والأعْيُنا

قَدْ نزَّهَ الأسماعَ والأعْيُنا

This beardless preacher, who

This immortal preacher

Has delighted the ears and eyes—

Who has purified ears and eyes

فلفظهُ يأمرُنا بالتقى

فلفظهُ يأمرُنا بالتقى

ولحظُهُ يأمرُنا بالخنا

ولحظُهُ يأمرُنا بالخنا

For his speech bids us to piety,

His words command us to piety

And his glance bids us to lewdness.

His glances command us to sin
