همُ الخفراءُ كمْ عينٍ وقلبٍ

رَمَوها بالغريقِ وبالحريقِ

They are the guards—how many an eye and heart

Have they afflicted with drowning and with fire!

تراهمْ جالسينَ على طريقٍ

تراهمْ جالسينَ على طريقٍ

وهمْ قومٌ على غيرِ الطريقِ

وهمْ قومٌ على غيرِ الطريقِ

You see them sitting on a road,

Yet they are people on the wrong path.
