ما قيِّمُ الحمَّامِ إلاّ فتنةٌ

للناسِ عاملةٌ على الأرواحِ

The bathhouse attendant is nothing but a temptation,

The dove is nothing but seduction

for people, working upon their souls.

To people working on souls

هو قيِّمٌ يسطو بطرفٍ شاطرٍ

هو قيِّمٌ يسطو بطرفٍ شاطرٍ

والردفُ منهُ راجحُ الرجَّاحِ

والردفُ منهُ راجحُ الرجَّاحِ

He is an attendant who assails with a roguish glance,

It is a valuer with a clever glance

and his rump outweighs the weightiest.

And its tail outweighs the scales
