سكرتْshe grew drunk بخمرِon the wine of زلازلٍearthquakes رقصتْshe danced لهاto them
سكرتْ بخمرِ زلازلٍ رقصتْ لها
رقصَthe dance of القلوصِthe young she-camel براكبٍbearing a rider مستعجلِin haste
رقصَ القلوصِ براكبٍ مستعجلِ
She grew drunk on the wine of earthquakes and danced to them,
As a young she-camel dances bearing a rider in haste.
سقياًa blessing of water لسقياهاupon her draught فدمعيfor my tears قاطرٌdripping
سقياً لسقياها فدمعي قاطرٌ
لمصابِover the calamity of منزلِهاher dwelling وأهلand the people of المنزلِthe dwelling
لمصابِ منزلِها وأهل المنزلِ
May her draught be blessed, for my tears are dripping
Over the calamity that struck her dwelling and its people.
