O you who envy people for their wealth,

O you who envy people for their wealth

Away from me, O tormented one—away with you!

From me to you, O critic, to you

فلو تساوى الناسُ في رزقهمْ

فلو تساوى الناسُ في رزقهمْ

لم تعْطَ معشارَ الذي في يديكْ

لم تعْطَ معشارَ الذي في يديكْ

For if people had equal shares of sustenance,

If people were equal in their livelihood

You would not be given a tenth of what is in your hands.

You would not get a tenth of what's in your hand
