O Commander of the Faithful, show kindness, and do not
Hide yourself from us, by Him who has honored you.
لوif رفعتَyou lifted السترَthe curtain قبَّلْناwe would kiss الثّرىthe earth
لو رفعتَ السترَ قبَّلْنا الثّرى

وترحَمنا على مَنْ خلَّفَكْ
If you lifted the curtain, we would kiss the earth
And pray for mercy upon the one who left you behind.
