بعلةِ السلِّ توفِّيْ أخي

وكانَ في الأسيافِ معدودا

وكانَ في الأسيافِ معدودا

My brother died of consumption,

You fulfilled the pledge of the sword, my brother,

And he was counted among the swords.

And were counted among the blades,

يا مغمداً في التربِ مِنْ بيننا

يا مغمداً في التربِ مِنْ بيننا

أبكيكَ مسلولاً ومغمودا

أبكيكَ مسلولاً ومغمودا

O you from our midst, sheathed in the dust,

O you who now lie in the dust among us,

I weep for you, unsheathed and sheathed.

I weep for you, sheathed and shrouded.
