أكثرُ وطءِ الناسِ مِنْ شُبْهةٍ

أكثرُ وطءِ الناسِ مِنْ شُبْهةٍ

أو مِنْ زنا والحلُّ فيهم قليلْ

أو مِنْ زنا والحلُّ فيهم قليلْ

Most people's intercourse is of doubtful lawfulness,

Most people are full of suspicion

Or is illicit sex; lawful intercourse among them is scarce.

Or adultery, and few are pure.

فابنُ حلالٍ نادرٌ نادرٌ

فابنُ حلالٍ نادرٌ نادرٌ

والنادرُ النادرُ كالمستحيلْ

والنادرُ النادرُ كالمستحيلْ

So a legitimately born son is rare, rare,

A son of the lawful is rare, so rare,

And the rare, the rare, is like the impossible.

And the rare is as rare as the impossible.
