If someone sells a beautiful woman

Whoever sells a beauty

whom he could not bear to be without,

Could not bear to part with it

فدواءُ الصبِّ عندي

فدواءُ الصبِّ عندي

مُشترى أحسنَ منها

مُشترى أحسنَ منها

then the cure for the lovesick, in my view,

Yet to me the cure for passion

is buying one more beautiful than her.

Is better bought than freely gained
