أحمدُ اللهَ الذي جَنبَني

أحمدُ اللهَ الذي جَنبَني

كَلَفَ الملْكِ وأمراً صعبا

كَلَفَ الملْكِ وأمراً صعبا

I praise God, who spared me

I praise Allah who spared me

the burdens of kingship and a difficult undertaking.

The king's command, a difficult order

لم أجدْ للملكِ ماءً صافياً

لم أجدْ للملكِ ماءً صافياً

فتيمَّمْتُ صعيداً طيِّبا

فتيمَّمْتُ صعيداً طيِّبا

I found no clear water in kingship,

I did not find pure water for the king

so I performed dry ablution with pure earth.

So I made tayammum with good soil
