إنّي امرؤٌ قَلَّ بينَ الناسِ أشباهي

إنّي امرؤٌ قَلَّ بينَ الناسِ أشباهي

إذ لا أزالُ غنيَّ النفس باللّهِ

إذ لا أزالُ غنيَّ النفس باللّهِ

I am a man whose like is rare among people,

I am a man with few equals among people

for through God I remain rich in soul.

As I do not cease being rich in spirit through God

رفعتُ كلي عنِ الأصحابِ كلّهم

رفعتُ كلي عنِ الأصحابِ كلّهم

فلا أثقِّلُ في مالٍ ولا جاهِ

فلا أثقِّلُ في مالٍ ولا جاهِ

I have lifted my burden from all my companions,

I have lifted myself entirely above all friends

so I burden them for neither money nor influence.

So I am not burdened by wealth or status
