تعالى اللهُ عنْ جورٍ وظلمٍ

تعالى اللهُ عنْ جورٍ وظلمٍ

وجلَّ عنِ العقابِ بغيرِ ذنبِ

وجلَّ عنِ العقابِ بغيرِ ذنبِ

God is exalted above oppression and injustice,

The Lord is far above tyranny and injustice

and too sublime to punish where there is no sin.

And too glorious to punish without sin

فما عبثاً رأيتُ عبيدَ تُرْكٍ

فما عبثاً رأيتُ عبيدَ تُرْكٍ

مملَّكةً على أحرارِ عُرْبِ

مملَّكةً على أحرارِ عُرْبِ

For not in vain have I seen Turkish slaves

Yet I have not seen, without cause or reason

made rulers over freeborn Arabs.
