لا تعاتبْ على انقطاعي فودِّي

لا تعاتبْ على انقطاعي فودِّي

محرزٌ لا تخفْ عليهِ ضياعا

محرزٌ لا تخفْ عليهِ ضياعا

Do not reproach me for my absence, for my affection

Do not blame me for being distant, my love for you

is secure; do not fear its loss.

Is safe, do not fear it will be lost

فوصالُ العدوِّ ليسَ وصالاً

فوصالُ العدوِّ ليسَ وصالاً

وانقطاعُ المحبِّ ليسَ انقطاعا

وانقطاعُ المحبِّ ليسَ انقطاعا

For an enemy's closeness is no closeness,

For the company of enemies is no company

and a lover's absence is no absence.

And the distance of a lover is no true distance
