ومالي في زائرٍ رغبةٌ

ومالي في زائرٍ رغبةٌ

ففيهِ عنِ اللهِ لي مَشْغَلَهْ

And I have no desire for a visitor,

I have no desire for a visitor,

for he is a distraction to me from God.

For he distracts me from God.

وقدْ لا أراهُ كما قيلَ لي

وقدْ لا أراهُ كما قيلَ لي

وقدْ لا يراني كما قيلَ لَهْ

وقدْ لا يراني كما قيلَ لَهْ

And I may not see him as he was described to me,

Perhaps I will not see him as I was told,

and he may not see me as I was described to him.

And perhaps he will not see me as he was told.
