دُنياa world يُضامُare wronged كرامُهاits noble ones بلئامِهاby its base ones
دُنيا يُضامُ كرامُها بلئامِها
ودليلُand proof ذاكَthat حسينُهاits Husayn ويزيدُهاand its Yazid
ودليلُ ذاكَ حسينُها ويزيدُها
A world whose noble ones are wronged by its base ones;
and proof of that is its Husayn and its Yazid.
ياO خاطبَsuitor of الدنياthe world الدنيَّةthe lowly إنهاindeed it
يا خاطبَ الدنيا الدنيَّة إنها
طُبعتْwas fashioned علىin كدرٍmurk وأنتَyet you تريدُهاdesire it
طُبعتْ على كدرٍ وأنتَ تريدُها
O suitor of the lowly world, indeed it
was fashioned in murk, yet you desire it.
