جَعْسوسُكُمْ حسَنٌ لوْلا شَميمُ أذىً

جَعْسوسُكُمْ حسَنٌ لوْلا شَميمُ أذىً

يشْوِي الأنوفَ وداءٌ في الفُؤادِ دَوِي

Your wretch is handsome, were it not for a noxious smell

That scorches the nostrils, and a grievous sickness in the heart.

مُعَمَّمٌ فوْقَ طولٍ مُفْرِطٍ وضَنىً

كَما يعمِّمُ رأسَ الدِّيسَةِ القِنَوي

Turbaned atop an excessively tall, emaciated frame,

As al-Qinawī wraps a turban around the head of the diss grass.
