وطالَعنا بطَلْعَتِهِ النّجِيسَهْ

When Jaʿsūs comes to prayer,

When a spy comes to pray

And appears before us with his filthy face,

And looks at us with his filthy gaze,

رأيْنا منْ يَديْهِ ومن قَفاهُ

رأيْنا منْ يَديْهِ ومن قَفاهُ

صَليباً قد أطلّ علَى كَنيسَهْ

صَليباً قد أطلّ علَى كَنيسَهْ

We see his hands and the back of his neck forming

We see in his hands and on his nape
