بمَقامِ إبْراهيمَ عُذْ واصْرِفْ بِهِ

بمَقامِ إبْراهيمَ عُذْ واصْرِفْ بِهِ

فِكَراً توَرِّقُ عنْ بَواعِثَ تنْبَري

فِكَراً توَرِّقُ عنْ بَواعِثَ تنْبَري

Seek refuge at Ibrahim's station, and through it dispel

By Abraham's station turn, reflect, be wise,

Thoughts that sprout from impulses that arise.

Leave behind what rouses and excites,

فجِوارُهُ حَرَمٌ وأنتَ حَمامةٌ

فجِوارُهُ حَرَمٌ وأنتَ حَمامةٌ

ورْقاءُ والأغْصانُ عودُ المِنْبَرِ

ورْقاءُ والأغْصانُ عودُ المِنْبَرِ

For its vicinity is a sanctuary, and you are a dove,

His neighbourly protection makes it sacrosanct,

Ash-gray, and the branches are the pulpit's wood.

You are a white dove, branches the pulpit's wood.

فلقَدْ أمِنْتَ منَ الزّمانِ ورَيْبِهِ

فلقَدْ أمِنْتَ منَ الزّمانِ ورَيْبِهِ

وهُوَ المروِّعُ للمُسيءِ وللبَري

وهُوَ المروِّعُ للمُسيءِ وللبَري

For you have found safety from time and its vicissitudes,

So you are safe now from time and its mischief,

While it strikes terror in the wrongdoer and the innocent.

Which terrifies evildoer and innocent alike.
