قُمْrise سَقِّنيgive me drink والأفْقُand the horizon يَقْرَعُknocks at بابَهُits door
مِنْfrom أوّلِthe first of الفَجْرَيْنِthe two dawns ضيْفٌa guest وارِدُarriving
Rise, pour me a drink; at the horizon's door knocks
a guest arriving from the first of the two dawns.
وكأنّنيand it is as though I بالصُّبحِbehold the morning فيهِwithin it عاطِساًsneezing
مِنْfrom بعْدِafter ماthat هَبّblew الهَواءُthe wind البارِدُcold
And it is as though I see the morning sneezing within it,
after the cold wind has blown.
