مَوْلايَ سِتٌّ من الظّلامِ مَضَتْ

مَوْلايَ سِتٌّ من الظّلامِ مَضَتْ

كالمِسْكِ في صِبْغةٍ وفي أرَجِ

كالمِسْكِ في صِبْغةٍ وفي أرَجِ

My lord, six hours of darkness have passed,

My Master, six nights of darkness have passed

like musk in hue and in fragrance.

Like musk in dye and fragrance

أجْزاءُ لَيْلٍ مرّتْ كما انْطلقَتْ

أجْزاءُ لَيْلٍ مرّتْ كما انْطلقَتْ

كَفٌّ على سُبْحةٍ منَ السَّبَجِ

كَفٌّ على سُبْحةٍ منَ السَّبَجِ

Portions of night passed, like the sweep of

Parts of a night went by as they flew

a hand over a rosary of jet.

Like a palm on beads of rosary

الى مَحَلِّ القَبولِ قدْ عرَجَتْ

الى مَحَلِّ القَبولِ قدْ عرَجَتْ

بفِعْلِكَ البرِّ خَيْرَ مُنْعَرَجِ

بفِعْلِكَ البرِّ خَيْرَ مُنْعَرَجِ

They have ascended to the place of acceptance,

To the abode of acceptance they ascended

through your righteous deed, along the finest path.

Through your righteous action, the best ascent

فاسْلَم أبا سالِمِ لِنَهْجِ هُدَى

فاسْلَم أبا سالِمِ لِنَهْجِ هُدَى

جدّدَهُ منْكَ أيُّ مُبْتَهِجِ

جدّدَهُ منْكَ أيُّ مُبْتَهِجِ

So remain safe, Abu Salim, for a path of guidance

So submit, O Father of Salim, to the path of guidance

renewed through you by one most joyful.

Renewed through you, O most joyful one

فَلَيْلَةُ المَوْلِدِ الكريمِ على

فَلَيْلَةُ المَوْلِدِ الكريمِ على

تَقْواكَ للّهِ أصْدَقُ الحُجَجِ

تَقْواكَ للّهِ أصْدَقُ الحُجَجِ

For the night of the noble birth bears witness to

The night of the noble birth, upon

your piety toward God—the truest of proofs.

Your piety for Allah, is the truest proof
