هَنيئاً أبا الفضْلِ الرِّضا أو أبا زيدِ

هَنيئاً أبا الفضْلِ الرِّضا أو أبا زيدِ

وأُمِّنْتَ منْ بَغْيٍ تخافُ ومِنْ كَيْدِ

وأُمِّنْتَ منْ بَغْيٍ تخافُ ومِنْ كَيْدِ

May favor bring you joy, Abu al-Fadl—or Abu Zayd!

Congratulations Abu Al-Fadl Ar-Rida or Abu Zayd

And you have been made safe from the oppression you fear and from intrigue,

You are safe from the harm you fear and from plots

بِطالِعِ يُمْنٍ صالَ في السّعْدِ شأوُهُ

بِطالِعِ يُمْنٍ صالَ في السّعْدِ شأوُهُ

فَما هوَ منْ عَمْرِو الرِّجالِ ولا زَيْدِ

فَما هوَ منْ عَمْرِو الرِّجالِ ولا زَيْدِ

By an auspicious rising star whose reach excelled in good fortune;

With auspicious rising fortune excelling in happiness

For he is no mere Amr or Zayd among men.

It is not from the lifetime of men nor Zayd

وقيِّدْ بشُكْرِ اللهِ أنعُمُهُ التي

وقيِّدْ بشُكْرِ اللهِ أنعُمُهُ التي

أوابِدُها تأبى سِوى الشُّكْر منْ قَيْدِ

أوابِدُها تأبى سِوى الشُّكْر منْ قَيْدِ

And with thanks to God, tether His blessings, whose

And restrict with gratitude to Allah His gifts

Untamed ones refuse any tether but gratitude.

Its everlasting blessings refuse any restriction except gratitude
